Korden

Korden is Neil Davey (bouzouki/mandolin) and Dan Roach (DADGAD guitar). They specialise in the wild, varied and infectious world of Cornish Celtic music, and especially in the nos lowen style. Their various bands read like a who’s who of the foremost Cornish Celtic music groups both past and present. These include such well known and influential names as Bucca, Dalla, Skillywidden, Heb Mar and Salt & Sky. Neil was involved at the very outset of the great revival in Cornish music, and has remained an integral part of this scene ever since, perhaps most notably for being one of the co-founders of the remarkable phenomenon that is the nos lowen movement in Cornish dance and music, and also as the publisher of the hugely popular ‘Fooch’ Cornish tune books. He has toured globally, playing both Cornish and other types of Celtic music. Dan is a veteran of the music scene in Cornwall of some 40 years standing, turning his hand to many genres during that time, such as jazz, blues, rock, even hillbilly music! He started to become immersed in Cornish music around 10 years ago, and brings these various experiences and influences to bear on his approach to playing Cornish music on DADGAD tuned guitar. Neil and Dan take great delight in sparking off each other’s brilliant playing and in celebrating the indigenous music of their homeland Cornwall.
